Soon after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022, Kremlin reported several instances of what they called “sabotage attacks” and terrorist attacks within their country. Russia blamed these attacks on the Kyiv govt. While Ukraine’s govt never claimed responsibility or denied attacking Russian targets inside Russia, there are volunteer groups that are individually fighting these battles for Kyiv. One of them is the “Bratstvo” battalion, a volunteer group that mainly recruits civilians and works independently to organise sabotage attacks within Russia.
