U.S Marines • New Aviation Training Facility

U.S Marines Corps Lieutenant Colonel Jim Pryor, Commanding Officer of Marine Wing Support Squadron 172, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, gives his feedback of the recently finished construction on Ie Shima, Okinawa, Japan, 31 July, 2020. The Ie Shima training facility was refurbished by MWSS-172 along with Navy Seabees, to include a resurfaced runway and vertical landing and takeoff pad, as well as road ways to support expeditionary and amphibious operations. 1st MAW is committed to readiness in the Indo-Pacific, and continues to train and operate as part of our commitment to providing a strong and capable force to our partners and allies, while adhering to implemented health protection measures.
