U.S Deployed a High Altitude Area Defense System to Israel

Area Defense System to Israel

In early March, U.S. European Command (EUCOM) deployed a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense system to Israel for the very first time. The 174th Air Defense Artillery Brigade provided command and control, facilitating the reception, movement and emplacement of over 200 personnel, and 70 pieces of equipment, and demonstrated U.S. rapid mobility and interoperability with our Israeli partners.

The deployment of a Terminal Altitude Area Defense System to Israel is an exercise involving U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force and Israeli forces, under the Dynamic Force Employment concept. The exercise builds readiness and interoperability in the region, demonstrates the U.S. capability to rapidly deploy air defense assets globally, and demonstrates U.S. Army Europe’s mission to deter potential adversaries and support allies.
