Throughout the Second World War, there were a number of German Generals who were responsible for war crimes against civilians. One man who was executed by the Soviets because of his involvement in war crimes was Adolf Hamann, a very experienced member of the German Army. Hamann had served in the First World War also, but during World War 2 he was the commander of a number of occupied cities. Inside of these many civilians were executed by the Germans and Hamann was considered responsible for this.
