Russia Names “Mastermind” In Dugina Murder, Putin Condemns “Vile Crime,” US Bombers Fly Over Balkans

Nearly 9,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed since Russia’s invasion began, Ukraine’s commander-in-chief said on August 22. Luhansk governor Serhiy Haidai claims that Russia is forcing people in the region to join its war. Russia said that Ukraine attacked Kherson’s Antonovka bridge across the Dnieper river using US-made HIMARS. A senior Russian diplomat has ruled out a diplomatic solution to end the war in Ukraine. Russia’s FSB claims that it has “solved” the murder of Darya Dugina, the daughter of Russian ideologue Alexander Dugin. Putin has called the killing of Dugina “a vile, cruel crime that cut short her life”. Two US Air Force B-52 bomber jets flew over the Balkans in a show of “commitment” to its NATO allies in Europe. Former Putin-loyalist commander Igor Girkin has called the Russian President a “clown” for being outplayed in the war by Zelensky.
