Russia Hits Kyiv Energy Facility, Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Plant Officials ‘Abducted’, West Warns Iran

Ukraine claims three Russian strikes hit one of the energy supply facilities in Kyiv on October 18. Explosions were also heard in Brovary, near the capital, after which Ukraine’s air defence units became active. Ukraine claims Russia launched 9 missile strikes and 39 airstrikes towards the war-torn country in the last 24 hours. Ukraine’s air defence claims to have shot down 8 Iranian-made kamikaze drones. The country’s air defence forces also shot down two Kalibr cruise missiles launched from the Black Sea. Meanwhile, Russia has launched a criminal investigation into the crash of a Su-34 fighter jet in Yeysk, which killed 13 people.
