Multiple Swedish media outlets are suspecting that the country’s recent wave of camera thefts might be linked to the Ukraine war. According to the New York Times, more than 160 cameras have been stolen from Swedish highways. Several Swedish news outlets suspect that the stolen cameras might be used in Russian drones. Local authorities are baffled with most thefts occurring between midnight and 3 AM. According to Swedish media reports, the country uses both Canon and Nikon as speed cameras for its highways. Swedish Security Service said that it is aware of information potentially linking the camera thefts to the Ukraine war. Experts say that there is a possibility that Russia might be struggling to find spare parts for its reconnaissance drones.
