Russian forces have attacked a municipal bus stop in Toretsk, killing at least eight people and injuring three children. Donetsk Governor Pavlo Kyrylenko said that the Russian attacks also damaged a church and other buildings in the region. Meanwhile, Russian-backed separatists claim that Ukrainian shelling has killed at least five people in Donetsk. Russian forces reportedly fired 60 rockets at Nikopol, in the central Dnipropetrovsk region. Kyiv said Russian troops engaged in considerable military activity, firing from tanks, “barrel and rocket artillery” in several parts of the country. Zelensky said it was “disgusting” for former European leaders to work for Russia, in an apparent reference to Gerhard Schroeder. A Russian Member of Parliament has said that it would be “important for Russia if China shot down US House speaker Nancy Pelosi’s plane”. Putin has lost his first woman colonel, Olga ‘Kursa’ Kachura, nicknamed his “she-wolf”, in the war in Ukraine after a missile hit her car. A Russian court has sentenced US Basketball star Brittney Griner to nine years in prison on drug charges.
