Russia’s Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu informed President Vladimir Putin that the Luhansk region has been “liberated” by Russian and separatist forces. Moscow also claimed “full control” over Lysychansk and a number of nearby settlements, including Belogorovka, Novodruzhesk, Maloryazantsevo, and Belaya Gora. Russia has been focusing its efforts on driving Ukrainian forces out of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions in the Donbas since it pulled back from Kyiv. Ukrainian fighters spent weeks trying to defend Lysychansk and to keep it from falling to Russia, as neighboring Sievierodonetsk did a week ago. #RussiaUkraineWar #Luhansk #Zelesnky #Germany
