Russia Bombs Energy Plants, Kyiv Downs 5 Cruise Missiles, Putin’s General Warns Of Kyiv’s Plans

Russia has reportedly stepped up its assault on key energy infrastructure facilities across Ukraine, including Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk Oblasts. Ukraine’s Air Force claims to have launched 20 strikes, hitting 13 areas housing Russian military & equipment. The Ukrainian air defence units say they shot down five cruise missiles on October 18. Meanwhile, General Sergei Surovikin, Russia’s new commander in Ukraine, has said that the situation is “very difficult” on the battlefield. The head of Ukraine’s military intelligence agency claims the country will have won the war against Russia by summer. A report by the New York Times claims Iran has sent drone trainers to Crimea to help Russia’s war effort.
