Russia has reportedly developed a new “aircraft carrier killer” ballistic missile for its navy called Zmeevik. The new missile combines a ballistic missile with a maneuvering hypersonic glide vehicle (HGV) final stage. The anti-ship ballistic missile (ASBM) would potentially add a powerful new dynamic to Russia’s anti-access/area-denial (A2/AD) strategy.
