Russian troops reportedly used the Kh-47M Kinzhal hypersonic air-launched missiles to strike military objects in Vinnytsia region. Ukraine said it killed 12 Russian troops in the Donetsk region on August 7. Ukraine’s military claimed it shot down four Kalibr cruise missiles fired by Russia from the Black Sea. UK’s Defence Ministry said that Russian forces are deploying Soviet-era mines in the Donbas region. The Russian-installed administration in Zaporizhzhia region has signed a decree providing for a referendum on joining Russia. Ukraine’s nuclear energy company Energoatom said that Russian forces are ready to blow up the nuclear power plant. Dmitry Medvedev has accused the US and other Western nations of harbouring long-term plans against his country.
