North Korea has passed a new law that allows Pyongyang to carry out preemptive nuclear strikes to protect itself. The law also makes North Korea’s status as a nuclear-armed state “irreversible”. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said the legislation also bars any denuclearisation talks. The Supreme People’s Assembly adopted a decree entitled Nuclear Weapons Policy on September 8.
