Former Russian president and Putin ally Dmitry Medvedev’s latest social media post has caused a row. Medvedev’s post, which has now been deleted, called for the return of all ex-Soviet states and the re-establishment of USSR. The post questioned the sovereignty of former Soviet states, Georgia and Kazakhstan. In his post, Medvedev said that Russia is “getting ready to undertake the next move to restore the borders of our homeland”. Experts are worried that Medvedev’s claims may be a precursor to an impending conflict with the two countries. Did the ‘hacked’ post reveal Vladimir Putin’s plans?
