Ukraine withdrew its forces from Lysychansk and Russia claimed its army had captured the Luhansk region. However, Ukraine President Zelensky has claimed that Kyiv’s forces are still battling the invaders on the outskirts of Lysychansk. Zelensky has vowed to retake Lysychansk with the help of long-range Western weapons. The Russian army allegedly shelled the eastern towns of Sloviansk, Kramatorsk and Kharkiv.
