After entering WW2 on the side of the Axis, Mussolini decided to join Germany in its efforts against Britain. He insisted on sending an air corps to participate in the fighting and Germans eventually accepted. About 200 bomber, fighter and support aircraft formed the Corpo Aereo Italiano (Italian Air Corps). They operated from their bases in Belgium and concentrated on the area between Thames and Harwich. What exactly did their missions look like and were they really that ineffective?
