Israel Tests Laser Based ‘Iron Beam’ Air Defence System to Counter Iran & Hamas Drone Threat

Israel has successfully tested its ‘Iron-Beam’ ground-based air defence system that is capable of neutralising drones. Israel said that the laser based system has successfully neutralised drones, rockets, mortars, and anti-tank missiles in a recent test. Israel said that the laser-based system is being developed to supplement & complement the Iron Dome and other Israeli air defence systems. Israel is pushing for early deployment amid growing threats from Iranian UAVs. The US and Israel are concerned about Iran’s drone capabilities and had stepped up cooperation to hinder Tehran’s efforts.
