India gets Third Squadron of S-400s from Russia; Missile Systems may Guard Border with Pak

Third Squadron of the S-400 Air Defence Missile Systems

“Embattled” Russia has delivered on its missile systems promise to “friend” India. New Delhi has reportedly received the third squadron of the S-400 air defence missile systems as part of its deal with Moscow despite a raging war in Ukraine. This third squadron is part of a five-squadron deal between India and Russia. The first squadron was received in December 2021, and the second one in April 2022. Both squadrons of S-400s have been strategically placed by India to guard borders and provide air defence against China and Pakistan. The third squadron is likely to be deployed in either Punjab or Rajasthan to deal with potential attacks from Pakistan.
