How MQ-9B SeaGuardians will help Japan amid Mounting Tensions with Russia, China & North Korea

The Japan Coast Guard (JCG) will begin Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) operations in October 2022. The JCG has selected the General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GA-ASI)-built MQ-9B SeaGuardian for the purpose. The SeaGuardian will reportedly operate from the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force’s Hachinohe Air Base in Aomori Prefecture.
