HIMARS maker to Join Israel’s Rafael to make High Energy Laser Weapons – Will Kyiv Get The Systems?

Ukraine War

US defence giant and HIMARS makers Lockheed Martin will begin developing High Energy Laser Weapon Systems (HELWS) for use in the US. Lockheed Martin will team-up with Israeli firm Rafael to join the development of a high-powered laser interception system dubbed Iron Beam. The defence system is based on Israel’s Iron Beam system, which Ukraine has requested in its efforts to defend itself against Russian attacks. The system is intended to knock out incoming attacks using only lasers rather than using rockets. Lockheed Martin has indicated that the weapon will be developed “for the American market as well as others.”
