Germany To ‘Sell 100 Howitzers’ to Ukraine, Key Russian-held Bridge Damaged, Zelensky Hails HIMARS

Kyiv claims a key Russian-held bridge in Kherson was hit in a counteroffensive to recapture the southern region. Ukraine claims that Russia has been using the bridge to supply its forces in the occupied southern region. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claims that HIMARS and other precision weapons are turning the course of war in Kyiv’s favour. The US has so far sent 12 HIMARS to Ukraine, and pledged four more of the precision weapons in its latest military package for Kyiv. Germany has reportedly approved the sale of 100 Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine. The UK reported that Russia’s Wagner Group has likely made “tactical advances” around the Vuhlehirska power plant in Donbas. Ukraine says it has resumed operations in the ports of Odesa, Chernomorsk and Pivdennyi to resume grain exports. Russian state-controlled media outlet RT lost its court bid against a European Union broadcast ban imposed on RT France. Meanwhile, the White House has said that US President Joe Biden will be speaking to China’s Xi Jinping later this week.
