Explosions Rock Mariupol, Russia Warns NATO Over Ukraine Aid, Germany “Approves 178 Leopard 1 Tanks”

Shipments to Ukraine could lead to an “unpredictable” level of Escalation

Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu says Moscow’s troops are “progressing with success” near Vuhledar and Bakhmut. Ukrainian State Border Guard Service say they have shot down a Russian Su-25 aircraft over Bakhmut in Donetsk. The Ukrainian military says 1,030 Russians troops were killed on February 6, describing it as the highest daily toll of the war.

Meanwhile, Shoigu has warned that the West’s arms shipments to Ukraine could lead to an “unpredictable” level of escalation. German media outlet Spiegel Online claims Berlin has approved the delivery of 178 Leopard 1 tanks for Ukraine from industry stocks. Reuters reports Switzerland could lift a ban on exports of Swiss weapons to war zones, ending its centuries-long neutrality.
