Did Putin Push Erdogan’s Turkey to Nix Deal to Produce Bayraktar TB-2 Drones in Ukraine Amid War?

Ukraine War

Private Turkish defence company Baykar has reportedly called off plans to set up a drone manufacturing plant in Ukraine, according to a report. The deal to set up a drone factory in Ukraine was signed just before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The report comes after Baykar CEO Haluk Bayraktar stated its plans to complete the construction of its plant in Ukraine in two years. The report also comes as Russia and Turkey strengthen bilateral ties amid the ongoing war in Ukraine. Reports of Ankara pulling the plug on the deal come weeks after Russia’s offer to set up a gas hub in Turkey
