“Chilling Development” Ukraine, Russia Clash At UNGA As Putin’s Forces March Ahead

The 193 member-strong United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) held an emergency special session on Ukraine crisis. The UNGA session was held to discuss a resolution calling on Russia to withdraw troops from Ukraine. United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres pleaded that the fighting must stop and a path of dialogue should be kept open. Ukraine’s ambassador told the world that if his country is crushed, international peace and democracy will not survive. Facing deepening isolation on the world stage, Russia faced a crucial test of support as several members condemned Moscow’s aggression.
