The Meeting
A group of 18 people met in a small town halfway between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Some are Jewish, the sons and daughters of Shoah survivors; the rest are German, the children of Nazi war criminals.
Producer Catrine Clay interviews the participants as they face up to a hitherto unspeakable shared history.
One of them is the son of Martin Borman, Adolf Hitler’s private secretary , another is the son a woman found alive buried under a pile of corpses in Bergen-Belsen concentration camp.
This meeting was organized by the Israeli psychologist Dan Bar-On, who was one of the first people to research the effects of the Shoa on the children of survivors of the Shoah and on children of Nazi perpetrators.
