Modern militaries place a huge emphasis on fitness.Running, callisthenics and marching, carrying weight. But it hasn’t always been this way.
Today’s video is a bit of fun – and a chance to explore a little-known area of military history – Fitness!
I am going to find out when and why modern armies, especially the British army, embraced fitness training and gymnastics.
Did they only focus on drill?
Were they monsters in the gym and could they out work a modern infantryman?
