These elite fighters, known as the Auxiliary Unit, were chosen for their knowledge of the surrounding landscape and were the United Kingdom’s last line of defense. They were also some of the most lethal units in Europe. Up to a thousand patrol units established their living quarters in secret underground bases all across the territory, digging up holes and using precarious furniture.
