Why the Type 95 Ha-Go Is Unlike Any Tank We’ve Worked On

With power out, people sick, and others on holidays, we’re doing something different this week… Daz takes us through a future project: our incredibly rare Japanese Type 95 Ha-Go light tank.

Captured at the end of WWII and long forgotten, this tank still carries original paint, fractured plates, and even remnants of its past life in the Pacific. Daz explores its current condition, points out the unique Japanese design features, and explains how it differs from the German and Soviet armour we’ve worked on before.

It’s a rare look at a future restoration project that will eventually be brought back to life here at the Australian Armour & Artillery Museum – one of the few surviving examples of its kind.
