The Stennes Revolt was an internal crisis within the Nazi Party led by Walther Stennes, a senior commander in the SA in Berlin. Stennes and his followers rebelled against Adolf Hitler’s leadership, accusing him of betraying the SA by pursuing power through legal and electoral means while neglecting the revolutionary goals and material needs of rank-and-file stormtroopers. The revolt erupted into violence, including clashes between rival Nazi factions and attacks on party offices. Hitler ultimately suppressed the uprising by expelling Stennes from the party and relying on the loyalty of the SS to restore order.
