The ground rumbles as 82 years after D-Day another convoy of American vehicles take to the roads of Dorset.
The Armour & Embarkation event from 19th – 21st June 2026 saw a wide selection of military vehicles head to some historic recreations around Dorchester and Weymouth.
This video covers the 20th June, which saw the convoy head from its base camp in Broadmayne to Bovington Tank Museum and onto Dorchester.
The first scene covers Moreton Ford, where large crowds gather to witness the spectacle.
Some make it through with no trouble, others find it hard going and one needs a helping hand.
After the Tank Museum, we head out into the Dorset countryside at Tincleton, which could very easily be mistaken for Northen France.
The full convoy is making its way to Dorchester, with the bikes heading up the pack and keeping junctions clear.
After a few hours in Dorchester filling up Brewery Square, it was time to head back to base and we catch up with the action at Broadmayne, with the tight turn leading to base camp.
With the day complete, the crews get enjoy at perfect summers evining, in what was one of the Americans camp in 1944 on the lead upto D-Day.
