Royal Navy’s first uncrewed helicopter ready to take on US and Chinese systems

From converted Black Hawks to Chinook lookalikes, the era of the uncrewed helicopter is here.

The United States, the UK and China are all investing in a mix of semi- or fully autonomous rotary wing aircraft.

Sikorsky has the Black Hawk and U-Hawk, optionally piloted and fully autonomous respectively, while Leonardo’s Proteus and China’s T1400 tandem rotor helicopter are also uncrewed.
