Iran and the US have agreed to a conditional two-week ceasefire, just less than two hours before President Donald Trump’s deadline. But according to Tehran University professor Seyed Mohammad Marandi, this is far from a breakthrough. “We don’t expect this to be smooth sailing at all,” he warns, stressing that while people in Tehran welcome the pause, Iran is already preparing for the possibility of renewed conflict.
