Scores of French protesters rallied against Ukrainian troops’ participation in the Bastille Day military parade in Paris. The protesters, who are supporters of French nationalist politician Florian Philippot, marched through the city on Tuesday to slam the decision. Footage shows demonstrators streaming through Place du 18 Juin 1940 in Montparnasse, carrying French flags and banners reading ‘FREXIT’ and ‘Down with the European Union – The Patriots.’ Philippot, leader of Les Patriotes, called the demonstration a ‘real national parade’ that would be “100 percent French and free”, contrasting it with the official celebrations on the Champs-Elysees. Demonstrators echoed his criticism, chanting, “Soldiers of Ukraine, go home!” and “Soldiers of NATO, go home!”
