United States Navy film #MN-4273 Here’s Your Letter, Sailor. “On the delivery of mail to sailors at sea. Reel 1, mailbags are transferred by launch from a PBY seaplane to an aircraft carrier. Describes typical letters. Mail is sorted at the San Francisco Fleet Post Office. Reel 2 explains how letters should be addressed. Mail is loaded on a Mars seaplane, flown to New Guinea, and reloaded onto native canoes and oxcarts. V-mail is processed by microphotography. Reel 3, five mail bags are flown all over the Pacific area before arriving at their destination aboard a battleship. Stresses the improvement in morale created by prompt mail delivery.” Illustrates the operation of V-Mail in the U.S. Navy.
