BREAKING: Iran Strikes Ali Al-Salem Air Base in Kuwait as Retaliation for US Attacks on Bandar Abbas
Iran has escalated tensions in the Gulf by targeting a US-linked airbase in Kuwait, according to Iran’s Tasnim news agency, in what appears to be a direct response to reported US airstrikes near Bandar Abbas. Kuwait’s Defence Ministry confirmed that its air defense systems intercepted multiple ballistic missiles and drones during the attack, preventing potential impact. Eyewitness visuals and regional reports indicated missile trails across Iran’s Khuzestan skies shortly before the attempted strike, pointing to a coordinated launch. The developments mark a sharp expansion of the confrontation beyond Iranian territory, bringing a key US operational hub in Kuwait into the conflict frame. With both sides demonstrating rapid strike and interception capabilities, the situation underscores a highly volatile security environment around the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global energy corridor now facing heightened military risk.
