Avro Lancaster arrives at IWM Duxford for Major Overhaul

The Lancaster bomber PA474 of the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) has arrived at Duxford’s Imperial War Museum to undergo an extended “Major” maintenance period. This significant maintenance is expected to keep the aircraft grounded for an estimated 18 months.

This scheduled maintenance is routine and today was the last time she flew in its currently markings before being unveiled in a new livery in 2027 once major service has been completed.
