My guest this week is Rear Admiral Chris Parry, a distinguished veteran of the Royal Navy with over three decades of operational experience, including as a naval aviator in the Falklands War, during which he took part in the rescue of 16 SAS soldiers from a glacier, and the destruction of the Argentine submarine Santa Fe.
Chris has now joined the Reform Party, and will be standing as their candidate in the (now disgracefully delayed) mayoral election for Hampshire and the Solent. I wanted to talk to him about why he chose to join Reform, but also to get his views on a topic about which he has been particularly outspoken in recent years, that is the deterioration of our armed forces. What he told me is profoundly shocking.
