The Taliban attack on the Uzbin Valley was one of the most infamous ambushes of the Afghan war. For over 20 hours, 31 paratroopers were trapped by heavily armed Taliban troops, outnumbered five to one. Nine were killed, sixteen wounded, and only six escaped unharmed.
