Fw190 ‘Butcher Birds’ Raid – January 1943 London Mass Attack

On 20 January 1943, the Luftwaffe launched a daring so-called ‘vengeance attack’ on London. In broad daylight, 28 Focke-Wulf FW190 fighter bombers evaded all British air defences and warning systems to surprise the British capital, bombing and strafing at will, shocking Londoners and the whole country with this daring raid.
