At the end of World War 2, there were a huge number of war criminals who needed punishing. Inside the Soviet Union, they carried out some public executions of German soldiers who were accused of committing terrible crimes against civilians. In the city of Leningrad, there were 8 Germans who were executed in front of thousands of people on a large gallows. But the executions were ruthless and were shocking for those who witnessed.
