The Upgraded T-80BVM
The war in Ukraine has become a battleground for both countries, with a large number of tanks being deployed. Ukraine has received support from its allies in the form of armored vehicles to strengthen its position in the conflict. On the other hand, Russia stands alone in maintaining its stance. However, this doesn’t mean that Russia is the weaker side. They continue to innovate and upgrade their armored vehicles.
On February 13, 2024, the Russian company Omsktransmash, a division of UralVagonZavod, announced through Russian media that they have delivered another batch of T-80BVM Model 2023 tanks to Russian units stationed in Ukraine. These tanks are believed to be intended for deployment in the Lyman direction near the Kremensky forest, possibly to support infantry operations against Ukrainian positions, similar to previous deliveries. However, what’s new with the upgraded T-80BVM? And has it proven to be effective?
